A Teacher Grant for the 2015-2016 school year is now open!  We encourage school staff to apply for a Teacher/Staff Grant for the 2015 - 2016 school year starting August 11, 2015. LCPS Foundation Has Successful Year; More Coming in 2014-15

The LCPS Foundation held its last board meeting of the 2013-14 school year May 12, as Superintendent Stan Rounds joined board members to reflect on successes during the current school year and opportunities in 2014-15.

Hermosa Heights E.S. Has Growing Tower Garden

Fourth-grade students at Hermosa Heights Elementary School are seeing plants grow in a new way. With funding received from the LCPS Foundation to purchase two aero-hydroponic growing systems, these students are tracking the data on growth between traditional, in-the-ground gardening system and an air and water system (aero-hydroponic).

Hundreds Turn Out for Comcast Cares Day at Mesilla E.S.

They were painting and planting, raking and hoeing, sweeping and cleaning throughout the morning on Saturday, April 26, 2014, as hundreds of volunteers worked to beautify Mesilla Elementary School during LCPS’ seventh annual Comcast Cares Day partnership with Comcast of Las Cruces.

Tapia Is 2015 Teacher of the Year; Torres is Bilingual Teacher of the Year

East Pcacho Elementary School first-grade teacher Mindy Tapia was named the LCPS 2015 teacher of the year at the LCPS Foundation's third annual Celebration of Excellence dinner, April 21, 2014 at Hotel Encanto. Ana Torres, who teaches fourth grade dual language at Loma Heights Elementary School, was named LCPS 2014 bilingual teacher of the year.
