I am honored to have two distinguished educators, who exemplify our mission of going above and beyond for every student, every day, as my advisors:
2017-18 LCPS Teacher of the Year (Advisor to the Superintendent)
Rachel Knight
The 2018 Teacher of the Year is an agriculture and science teacher from Centennial High School. Although this is the first year she has earned the prestigious award, she was named 1st runner-up for the recognition in 2015. And, she was also recognized as the 2015 Agriculture Teacher of the Year by the National Association of Agricultural Educators. Knight has been teaching at CHS since 2012.
2016-17 NM Teacher of the Year (Advisor to the Superintendent)
David Morales
David Morales is in his eleventh year as a social studies teacher at Mayfield High School. In addition to his other roles teaching and coaching throughout the district, Morales has received numerous recognitions including: being named a Character Counts Teacher of the Year Finalist, receiving the Excellence for Student Achievement Award from the Las Cruces Public Schools Board, being named the 2015-2016 Las Cruces Public Schools Teacher of the Year, receiving The Bridge of Excellence Award and being inducted as a Bridge Academy of Excellence Fellow and most recently, being recognized as an American Graduate Champion by KRWG-TV and The Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
