Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation is proud to support outstanding educators in the quest for excellence in our classrooms. Through Teacher/Classroom Grants, the Foundation is encouraging educators to devise innovative and exciting educational programs for their students that enhance the learning environment and inspire students to greater achievement and success.

Teachers, principals, school administrators, social workers, counselors, ancillary staff can apply for grants that benefit individual classrooms, or their entire school community. Grants fall under many categories such as Agriculture/Horticulture, the Arts, Literacy, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Student-centered technology and Educational Field Trips.
This year, for the first time, grants applications can be accessed online. You will need to register for an account and type in the requested information (you may start, save – them come back numerous times to complete the application). When the application is completed, just hit the “SUBMIT” button – that’s the complete process! You do not need to print it, deliver it and/or copy the application!

To open the website where you start the application process, just click on the blue hand above. You may also type the following URL in your browser: www.lcpsf.fluidreview.com

This year there are 2 types of grant applications: Individual and Group. Educators may submit more than one application, but are only eligible to receive one award per school year either from an Individual or from a group grant – not both.

  • Individual: The maximum award is up to but not to exceed $1000.00.
  • Group: The maximum award is up to but not to exceed $5000.00. The applications should be submitted under one lead educator’s name with all other members listed. Group grants may encompass 3 or more people.

The timeline for the Teacher Grant process is as follows:

  • Grant application released: Monday, November 17, 2014
  • Grant application submitted by: December 22, 2014
  • Grants screened and scored by: January 12, 2015
  • Grant tentatively planned to be presented at January 20, 2015 School Board Meeting

Grants funded are to be utilized by June 1, 2015.

We hope you consider submitting a grant this year! Please e-mail Nyeta Haines, Executive Director of the LCPS Foundation at nhaines@lcps.k12.nm.us if you have any questions!

Supporting Our Students and Staff: The LCPS Foundation works diligently to raise funds to support the schools’ educational goals. Each year, the Foundation provides financial support to a number of LCPS programs and to local educators. Monies that are raised by the Board of Directors’ projects are distributed to the classrooms, schools and to professional educators in a timely fashion. Private, corporate and educational donations have made dreams come true. This is only the beginning! We hope you will support our efforts and we value your involvement and input.

Who We Are

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, Inc., was conceived in 1999 and quickly developed in gaining support and in attracting contributions. The Foundation is a separate entity from the school district operating and managing its gifts separately from the school system. With its nonprofit status and mission to support the schools, the Foundation is able to give more financial help to our students, educators and district programs each year.

We welcome feedback from the community, especially LCPS staff. Contact Nyeta Haines, LCPS Foundation Executive Director, 505 S. Main St., Ste 249, Las Cruces, NM 88001. 527-5807, or nhaines@lcps.k12.nm.us
