The Las Cruces Public Schools' District Advisory Council was conceived in 1994 at the direction of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools. The District Advisory Council (DAC) is made up of representatives from every school. The DAC kickoff meeting will be held September 14, 2009, at Oñate Commons. Thereafter, meetings are held on the first Monday of the month during the school year in the Administration Building, Conference Room A, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visitors are asked to park in the parking lot located off Campo Street and enter through the rear doors. All community members are invited to attend.

• Get parents involved in schools;
• Improve communication between the administration, schools, parents, and School Board;
• Provide an avenue in which to disseminate information regarding school issues;
• Discuss educational topics of importance to parents and community;
• Create awareness regarding school issues;
• Provide parents an opportunity to serve on district -level committees.

Regular meetings will be held each month during the school year, except for January and May.

All Meetings are from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Central Office Administration, Conference Room A

The DAC was formed so the opinions of parents and the community at-large could be heard by LCPS administration. Your comments and suggestions are needed. Please feel free to e-mail Andrea Fletcher, Facilitor, at , regarding any issue relative to the DAC.
