Lions Club Hosting Camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students
The Sunrise Lions Club is once again set to host it’s annual Survivor Camp, June 4-8 at the New Mexico State University (NMSU) Activity Center. The camp is open to children ages 5-14 who are deaf and hard of hearing. Immediate siblings of camp participants who are also ages 5-14, may also register for the camp, depending on availability. According to a camp brochure, the camp provides deaf and hard of hearing youth an opportunity to meet and associate with others like themselves while also interacting with positive adult role models who are deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing, in a fun and safe environment. The camp will include activities such as swimming, indoor and outdoor games and rock wall climbing.
Registration applications must be received on or before May 11th, 2018. Any applications received after the deadline may result in a $10 administration fee. One application per child is required.
Registration can also be made at the NMSU Activity Center (Room 101) or e-mail the camp coordinator at: email@example.com with your intent to attend before May 11th, 2018 to avoid a late fee.
