Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher Nominations Due March 2
Nominate a Middle or High School Teacher
Barnes & Noble Booksellers of Las Cruces is seeking nominations for the “My Favorite Teacher” contest, said B&N Community Business Development Manager Cheryl Graves. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, March 2, 2018. Winners will receive cash prizes and NOOK eReaders.
“The contest gives middle and high school students the chance to tell their communities how much they appreciate their teachers,” said Graves.
Middle and high school students can nominate a teacher by writing essays, poems or thank you letters that share how their teacher has influenced their lives and why they appreciate and admire that teacher. Participating schools collect the essays and submit them to the Las Cruces Barnes & Noble store for consideration. Entries will be judged on the compelling nature of the teacher’s qualities, the sincerity of the student’s appreciation and the quality of expression and writing.
The local winning teacher will be recognized at an event where he or she will receive a special award and recognition. The student who wrote the winning essay or poem will receive a certificate of recognition at the event.
The winning teacher from Las Cruces will be entered into the regional contest. Each regional winner will receive a $500 Barnes & Noble Gift Card. From the pool of regional winners, Barnes & Noble will name one teacher the Barnes & Noble National Teacher of the Year. The National Teacher of the Year and the teacher’s school will each receive $5,000.
