Picacho Middle Students Volunteer at Soup Kitchen

After learning about food safety and sanitation, food service, communication, Social responsibility, and how it applies to future careers, nine Picacho Middle School students in a Family and Consumer Sciences class put those skills to the test and prepared and served lunch at the El Caldito Soup Kitchen Friday, Dec. 15.

“The students did an amazing job preparing the food and serving our community,” said Elisabet Salas, a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Picacho Middle School. “I thought I was teaching my students something important, but I left learning so much more about the potential our kids possess.
