Proposed Science Standards Drawing Teacher’s Comments

Michelle-Estrada_headshotMichelle Estrada, a former Las Cruces Public Schools Teacher of the Year, and recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, has offered her perspective on the proposed changes to New Mexico’s science standards being considered by the NM Public Education Department.  Estrada, a kindergarten teacher at Desert Hills Elementary, has written to Governor Susana Martinez, Acting NM Secretary of Education Christopher Ruszkowski and legislators encouraging the PED to adopt the Next Generation Science Standards as they were originally adopted.  Read her letter here.
