LCPS Superintendent Dr. Greg Ewing has named three employees LCPS All Stars at the monthly Principals meeting. Ewing started the awards program earlier this year as a way to recognize outstanding LCPS employees.

“Every single day we have employees doing great things throughout the district,” Ewing said. “We started this awards program because we wanted to recognize those individuals who go above and beyond for every student, every day.”

The LCPS All Stars for September are: Christina Quintero, Nurse, Sonoma Elementary School; Polly Ortiz, Cafeteria Manager, Mesa Middle School and Conrad Ortega, Custodian, Camino Real Middle School.

“Christina goes above and beyond to provide the best medical care and treatment for our students,” said Melissa Galaz, principal at Sonoma Elementary School. “She is truly our ‘angel without wings’ and we truly appreciate everything she does for our school.”

“Polly is always willing to go over and beyond for our students, teachers and school community. She is an amazing mother, grandmother, cafeteria manager, cheer coach and person,” said Steve Rodriguez, principal at Mesa Middle School. “She puts in countless hours to help the school and Mesa would not be the same without her.”

“Conrad has been a custodian with LCPS for the past 31 years. Within our learning community, he has shown himself to be a true leader who has established positive rapport with everyone in our building,” said Ralph Ramos, principal at Camino Real Middle School. “His consistent communication, unyielding work ethic and efficiency make him a true Wildcat.”

As part of the recognition, honorees are awarded with a commemorative certificate and gift card at the monthly Principals meeting. Over the course of the one-year awards cycle, the program will recognize one employee from every school in the district and a total of four employees from Central Office.
