Art ExhibitFeaturing everything from whimsical rainbow cow paintings to intricate line drawings, the Annual LCPS Middle School Art Exhibition is on display now through Jan. 10, 2017, in the LCPS Administration Building lobby, 505 South Main Street, Suite 249. In recognition of the artist’s work, an opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 4-5 p.m. in the Administration Building lobby.

“Art helps the students gain the creative thinking and problem solving skills they need to help them excel academically, and it better prepares them for some of the challenges they face throughout life,” said Matthew Redington, an art teacher at Sonoma and Jornada Elementary Schools. “This exhibition is a great way for the community to honor these talented students and enjoy some of the wonderful art they have created.”

The exhibition includes 50 pieces of artwork, some of which are available for sale, created by talented middle school artists from six different LCPS schools. The artwork for the exhibition was selected based on the overall quality of the work, as well as, how well the pieces worked together as a whole, Redington said.
