LAS CRUCES – Vista Middle School will host its annual eighth-grade health fair 1:00-3:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 at the school, 4465 Elks Road, said school nurse Kim Schulmeister.

Twenty-six community presenters will participate in the health fair, said Schulmeister. They will include New Mexico State University Exergames (interactive video games that encourage physical activity), NMSU Nursing Program, Doña Ana Community College respiratory therapy,  LCPS Health and Nutrition Specialist Barbara Berger with an unusual fruits and vegetables tasting and wheat grinding, Walgreens Pharmacy, emergency medical technicians demonstrating CPR, the Doña Ana County District Attorney’s office on prevention child abuse, the Las Cruces Police Department on gang awareness and prevention, La Piñon Sexual Assault Recovery Services, the Memorial Medical Center Cardiovascular Program, the Doña Ana County Behavior Health Division, Las Cruces Fire Department, LCPS incident command on disaster preparedness, the United States Army, the U.S. Border Patrol canine unit, Maximum Results obstacle course and an air ambulance.
